Ingredients (yields 20)
400 gr kadayif (angel hair-like) pastry
6 tbsp butter, melted
20 walnut-sized cubes feta cheese
10 sandwich cheese slices (preferably kaseri or other semi-hard cheese)
Preheat oven at 180°C. Using your fingers, fluff up the strands of pastry. Wrap a feta cube in a slice of sandwich cheese and place it at the center of a small quantity of dough. Wrap the cheese with strands of dough until fully covered. Place the bites in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with melted butter and refrigerate for 20 minutes, so that they keep their shape at baking. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve with Balsamic Cream with Fig.
